My Great Granny

Here is a Lo that I did for the challenge over at the My Mind's Eye blog. This Lo is my take on the sketch that was provided. The winner of the challenge gets to pick any three collections to take home. Can you believe that???? The paper I used is from the "Complete Boy" paper collection. I used the same papers to make the flowers. The journaling spot is actually a stamp from the "Laundry Line" collection that is stamped on more of the "All Boy" paper collection. The growing everyday glittered sticker is from the "Enlightened" collection. Of course I had to add some ribbon, bling, buttons, and Thickers for the title. I had such a great time creating this Lo, the flowers are handmade, all the distressing, Glossy Accents on the title, and even machine stitching. I normally don't do much stitching on Lo's because my sewing machine is always put away and I'm to lazy to drag it out. Needless to say, I have now created a permanent place for my sewing machine to be set up in my craft room so hopefully I will use it more often. Everyone has until November 19 to enter so get your Lo's in.

TFL, I hope some scrapin happens for you today!

My Donation to Locks of Love!!!

I just wanted to show everyone my donation to Locks of Love. This is a great non-profit organization that provides hairpieces for financially disadvantaged children who are suffering from medical long term hair loss, from any diagnosis, in the U.S. and Canada. I have been wanting to cut my hair for quite some time but always had an excuse not to, so finally here is the result.

I still cannot believe that I was walking around with that mess on my head and after it was cut it looked like a dead rat laying on the counter. Lol!!! There was not even a tear shed, yes it was time for it to go. When I came home my son, who will be 3 next week, said "Oh Momma your hairs all gone, I'm gonna go get you some more hair." He even jumped in his motorized car like he was going to the store, lol. I have to say that I am soooooo happy with my cut, and believe it or not I have natural curly hair so I can wear it curly or straight, it is very versatile. I am thankful that I could help out even with such a small gesture. I hope everyone has a beautiful day and happy scrapin!

I love how this turned out. My son is growing up so fast and I had the greatest memories when I was putting this layout together. Children are the greatest blessing in the world. I love how they live in the moment. My son teaches me something new everyday and I am so thankful to be his mother.

2 Months Since Last post!

Well life has taken a toll on me, school has started back for me so this means less scrapin time. I have had a chance to join a great online community over at the scrap beach, hosted by Kathryn. Kathryn host a live scrap chat every Thursday and also an all night crop once a month with the live feed as well. There are a ton of challenges and prizes. This is a really great place to hang out, scrap and be able to chat with everyone. Kathryn and Mr. Lifeguard(Kathryn's scrubby) are wonderful hosts and a ton of fun to hang out with. I can not believe the inspiration at the beach, everyone is very talented and they love to share all their ideas. There is a 24 hour chat box so no matter what time of the day you are able to chat its open. This is a great place to hang out and I hope to see you there.

Have a scrapin day!

My Sketch World

These are a few cards that I did for the ABC Summer Crop at My Sketch World. I don't normally do cards but the great Ladies at MSW have inspired me to try it out. I am very pleased with how these turned out, and plan to continue my endeavor into the card making world. This is a great month long crop that has a challenge for every letter of the alphabet. There are also fun games with prizes involved. We are into week two but you can still enter and finish some challenges to be entered into the drawing for the grand prize.

Faces of My Angel

This LO was for the July Sketch Challenge at A Walk Down Memory Lane. I had so much fun with this sketch, and the Ladies on the message board are great to hang out with. I can't wait for the August challenge. This LO is of my DS and it is inspired by the cute facial expressions he makes. Everyday I am truly amazed how one little guy can be so expressive.

Just Married

Here is a 2 page LO I did for my Brother in law and his wife. This is a few pictures of them on their wedding day and at the reception. I will be giving this as a Christmas present this year. I am very pleased with how this turned out. The colors for this LO were the colors of their wedding. I left the journaling spot open so they can write their own special message. I also plan to frame these so they will be ready to hang. I love the idea of giving hand made items for Christmas, I feel that it defines the true meaning of Christmas. I love when someone takes time out of their busy schedule to personally think of and hand create something for another person. I have to admit that I do often take the easy way out and get gift cards, but this year I am planning on hand making something for my family. I have wanted to do this in the past but I have always been to worried about if the other person would like the present or not. Maybe I'm just getting old and don't care if they like their gifts or not. LOL! I hope I can stay on top of this this year so I don't have to purchase any gift cards. With the economy the way it is, this will be my personal stand against needless purchases... except on scrappy items.
