My Inspiration!

Posted by Picasa

This is a LO that I completed for a contest at My Sketch World. The goal of this contest was to create a LO, using one of the many sketches in the Sketch Gallery, and to show what truly inspires you as a scrapbooker. They also have a separate contest and Card Sketch Gallery for all you card makers out there as well. Let me tell you, I could not believe the amount of sketches in the gallery to choose from, and the versatility of these sketches is just amazing. It does not matter your style or the number of pictures you want to use, I guarantee you will be able to find a sketch to meet your needs. You still have time to enter, the deadline is July 10th, so go and check it out.

Since the contest was about what inspires me as a scrapbooker of course I had to do a LO of my son. My son is truly my inspiration, not only to scrapbook but also to be the best person that I can. The reason he inspires me to scrapbook is, I want him to know that his story is important enough to be documented and told. Even if his story is ordinary to others, to me it is extraordinary.

The materials I used for this LO were from a RAK that I won from Marilyn. Marilyn designs for Scrapbook Challenges, and if you are ever in need of any inspiration just head over to her blog and check it out. Please be sure to leave her some love.

First Mini Album with the Bind-it-All!

Recently I purchased the Zutter Bind-it-All. I got a great deal because I was able to use a 40% off coupon, I paid $41.99 before tax, regular price $69.99. Awesome! I got this idea from Angela, a fellow GGS. Angela is always finding great deals and spreading the word. Also after receiving my GGS trading mini album from Jessica and seeing the binding on it, I had to have it. I recommend that you try it out a few times before you attempt your first binding project, just to make sure you get the hang of it. Trust me, I learned this the hard way. I ruined the cover of my mini, no worries, it was an easy fix. Luckily I had enough product to simply redo the cover. Yes I did try it out a few times myself before but, obviously it was not enough. LOL! I am very happy with the mini album but, the binding sends it over the top.

Materials used: My Mind's Eye Designer Paper, ColorBox Ink, Prima Flowers, Studio18 Rhinestones(from the dollar spot at Michael's), Misc. ribbons and brads.

Happy Father's Day!

Of course I had to work today, but I was able to do some scrapping while on the job. Shhhhhhhhh, don't tell the boss! I was at my local scrapbooking store and seen this awesome kit for a word album(DAD) for Father's Day. This is the first word album that I have done. I even used the lovely insert for the back page of the album. I was just going to get the word book but the colors in the kit were just perfect for my husbands taste. I purchased the kit and of course I did a few things differently but, for the most part I followed the kit. This was a fast and easy project for Father's Day and I had a great time working with the word album. You can find the kit here. I hope everyone had a good Father's Day. TFL

Materials used: Bo Bunny "DAD" Board Book, Bo Bunny pattern paper, Bo Bunny alpha's, clipz and ribbon from the Play All Day collection.

Smile!!!

Here is a layout I did for the Impromptu Crop at A Walk Down Memory Lane. This was for the recipe challenge. This layout came together very quickly for me, usually it is a challenge. The recipe was great, it called for:
1 cardstock
4 different pattern paper
3 flowers
3 buttons
1 ribbon or trim
chipboard (no alpha's)
Thickers or letter stickers

I actually followed the recipe, usually I can't seem to get something to fit in.

Mini Album, Girls Gone Scrappy!

So here it is, this is my mini album for my trading pal with Girls Gone Scrappy. The site is public now so please check it out, you can also click on the blinkie on the side bar. I hope my pal enjoys it as much as I enjoyed putting it together. I apologize for the picture quality. It has been raining for the past 3 days and I can't seem to get good lighting in the house, so the color is a bit off. The Album itself is from the dollar spot at Michael's. The paper is Me & My Big Ideas, Parisian Flourish, also from Michael's. I used various Prima flowers, metal accents, buttons and cardstock. TFL
